Built on reclaimed land for a 1989 expo, Momochi is wide pavements, sea air and skyline views where the rest of the city is alleys and noren curtains. Families get a beach, a science-y museum pairing and the dome's attractions without crossing a single nightlife district; runners get the seawall at sunrise; everyone gets sunsets behind the tower. What nobody gets is a quick dinner in town: Tojinmachi and Nishijin stations sit a 15–20 minute walk from the seafront hotels, then it's 20–25 minutes door-to-door to Hakata. Do that twice a day for three days and the calm stops feeling free.

Is Momochi worth staying in for a Hawks game?

Most visitors skip it because it's in Momochi. Their loss is your queue-free case at the City Museum.

Momochi if the kids set the agenda — beach afternoons, teamLab, the dome, wide pavements, no nightlife districts to route around. Is there anything cheap out here?
